This series consists of publications and communications created by Riverview Hospital and related agencies, including the titles Association News - News of the Essondale Branch of the B.C. Government Employees Association; Connections; Insight - Riverview Hospital Staff Newsletter; the Leader; Mental Health Branch Newsletter, Mental Health Services News, Outasight, Riverview Hospital Review, the Provincial and the Riverview Hospital Volunteer Association.

Record types include letter size booklets and photocopies of publications.

This subseries consists of nursing annuals (yearbooks) given to nursing students at their graduation. The annuals include lists of graduating students and their photographs, as well as other information about the school year. Additionally, the subseries includes two reunion books for the graduating classes of 1957 and 1958.

This subseries consists of an incomplete run of volumes of the Canadian Journal of Psychiatric Nursing (formerly the Psych Nurse and The Psychiatric Nurse) collected by the School of Psychiatric Nursing.

The first edition of the journal (1951) was a joint project sponsored by the newly created Council of British Columbia Psychiatric Nurses Association and the Saskatchewan Psychiatric Nurses Association. The first edition was published by Godfrey Haliburton, editor of the Burquitlam Star. The next several issues were jointly sponsored projects and were not in a continuous cycle of production. This subseries includes the first issue in 1951, and the first quarterly issue from 1952.

In the 1960s the journal changed ownership and was published by The Psychiatric Nurses' Association of Canada. They abbreviated its name to The Psych Nurse, and in June 1966 changed the name of the journal to The Canadian Journal of Psychiatric Nursing. The subseries contains v.2, no. 2 (1962); v.4, no. 1 (1965); v.7, no. 1,3-7, 9 (1966); v.8, no. 2-3, 5-10 (1967); v.9, no. 1-10 (1968); and v.10, no. 1-5, 7-10 (1969).

Throughout its history the journal features articles from nurses at Riverview Hospital.

The file consists of 5 graduation portraits of unidentified nursing graduates from the Training School for Nurses at the Provincial Mental Hospital, Essondale.

This subseries consists primarily of photographs that depict aspects of social and administrative life at Riverview Hospital and the nursing school. These photographs include staff and volunteer portraits, identification photographs, retirement and goodbye teas, awards dinners, luncheons, grand openings, seminars, lectures, courses, staff trips, holiday events, displays, and graduations from the School of Psychiatric Nursing. Additionally, this subseries contains photographs depicting the interiors and exteriors of buildings on Riverview Hospital grounds, the Woodlands School (TWS), as well as various public works projects, vehicles, and medical supplies used by the hospital staff.

Record types consists largely of silver gelatin negatives in large format cellulose acetate sheets and cellulose acetate film strips. The subseries also contains chromogenic colour negative film strips and large format sheets, silver gelatin DOP prints, a photograph album, and a scrapbook.

This subseries consists of photographs depicting graduation ceremonies and class photographs of the School of Psychiatric Nursing. It also includes photographs of the Nurses' Residences and nursing buildings, and some of the departmental photographs of nurses.

This series consists of records created and accumulated by the School of Psychiatric Nursing at Riverview Hospital. It includes administrative and financial records that informed the operation of the School, annuals (yearbooks) of each graduating class of the School, the publications accumulated from national psychiatric nursing organizations, as well as graduation and departmental photographs.

Record types in this series include manuals, reports, policies, handbooks, staff lists, event programmes and invitations, minutes, study notes, yearbooks, and publications.

This subseries consists of records related to administrative, operational, and financial functions at at the School of Psychiatric Nursing as well as records from its events and graduations. The subseries also includes some records from New Westminster Public Hospital for the Insane, with unclear chain of custody.

Record types include manuals, reports, policies and procedures, histories, study notes, staff lists, programs, minutes, pay slips, constitutions, and bylaws.

The series consists of 5 graduation portraits of unidentified nurses from the Training School for Nurses at the Provincial Mental Hospital (Essondale), as well as a portrait of an unidentified staff nurse, and a group portrait of unidentified men presumed to be the teaching staff of the Training School for Nurses.

The series consists of a diploma and transcript for Helena Regehr from the Training School for Nurses at the Provincial Mental Hospital, Essondale. The series also includes a staff card for Helena Regehr.

The subseries consists of a number of Veterans' Stories booklets from 2005 to 2007, as well as news clippings, minutes, and reports from the Dogwood Veterans Group. The subseries also contains photographs of members of the Dogwood Veterans Group that were included in the booklets, as well as photographs of various events attended by members.

This subseries consists of records related to the administration and operation of Riverview Hospital that were made and received by the Hospital. Records include employee handbooks, regulations, procedures, codes, manuals; program materials; telephone and physician directories; annual reports; financial information; blank hospital forms; a certificate of incorporation; and the Riverview Tree Inventory.

The fonds consists of four Annuals (1944-1947) from the School of Nursing, Provincial Mental Hospital, Essondale as well as a selection of graduation portraits from the School of Nursing. The fonds also includes a photograph of the Essondale Medical Staff and the Superintendent of Nursing (Mona E. Parsons). Finally, the fonds includes a graduation diploma, transcript, and staff card for Helen Regehr.

This series consists of records that were original personal fonds and collections acquired and preserved by the Riverview Hospital Historical Society's during its existence. It contains the personal collections of nurses, doctors, general staff, British Columbia's first Provincial Botanist, and a patient at Riverview Hospital. Each file includes records such as study notes, photographs, ephemera, correspondence, newspaper clippings and pamphlets.
