Scope and content
The file consists of photographs, news clippings, and correspondence related to Valerie Morrow who ran unsuccessfully for Alderman in the 1971 election and ran unsuccessfully for School Trustee in 1974. During the 1971 election, she was the only woman to run for Alderman. She also ran for Mayor in 1983 but withdrew from the race following a break-in at her house. The file includes news clippings related to her various political campaigns, correspondence between Morrow and the Columbian Newspaper, and a copy of a letter she wrote to Pope John Paul II related to her mayoral campaign in 1983.
