Administrative and membership records

The series consists of records pertaining to the Burquitlam Lions Club's (BLC) administrative and membership activities. It contains material relating to the history and objectives of the BLC, including its constitution and policies, as well as the day-to-day operations of the club. Additionally, it contains membership records, a core aspect of BLC administration.

The series is divided into several subseries: membership records; agendas and minutes of meetings; constitution, policies and procedures; correspondence.

The series consists primarily of textual material. Record types represented in the series include the following: membership reports (MMRs, lists, and schedules), information about individual members, agendas, reports, and meeting minutes, motion books, constitutions, procedures, policies, agreements, ephemera, internal correspondence, and correspondence with other organizations.

Administrative and operational records

The series consists of records pertaining to Hoy-Scott Watershed Society's (HSWS) incorporation, administration, and operation. It includes HSWS's certificate of incorporation, constitution and bylaws, as well as records documenting the organizational structure, procedures, and history of HSWS.

A large portion of the series consists of meeting agendas, minutes, and correspondence accumulated between 1995 and 2020. The series also contains yearly financial statements, funding applications, certificates, licenses, and correspondence relating to water rights and construction of the hatchery buildings.

Administrative records

This subseries consists of records related to the administration and operation of Riverview Hospital that were made and received by the Hospital. Records include employee handbooks, regulations, procedures, codes, manuals; program materials; telephone and physician directories; annual reports; financial information; blank hospital forms; a certificate of incorporation; and the Riverview Tree Inventory.

The collection consists largely of research materials and notes created in the preparation of Boire's book "With Hearts and Minds" published in 2016. The remainder of the collection consists of materials collected by Boire from Caisse Populaire Maillardville Credit Union, as well as accumulated material pertaining to Boire’s involvement in several community initiatives, such as the Maillardville Residents' Association, Maillardville revitalization and planning, and Place Maillardville.

Materials include correspondence, photographs, administrative records, interviews, reports, handwritten notes, clippings, advertising and professional materials, newsletters, research materials, prints, postcards, ephemera, a map, embossing seals, a lid from a glass milk bottle, and other documents. The collection also includes a manuscript copy of “With Hearts and Minds”.

The ArtsConnect Tri-Cities Arts Council fonds consists of the records created and received by the arts council and reflects its exhibitions and events, programs, workshops, awards and scholarships, fundraising, and advocacy for the arts in the Tri-Cities, predominantly from 1990 to 2008.

The fonds consists of a record types including minutes, reports, constitutions, correspondence, event planning files, production and exhibition files, newspaper clippings, newsletters, publications, plans, programmes, a scrapbook, promotional materials, and photographs depicting the many arts and cultural initiatives ArtsConnect organized and sponsored.

The fonds consists of the administrative and operational records created and received by the Burquitlam Lions Club from 1969 to 2016. The materials are related to the club’s initiatives serving both the local community as well as international programs through Lions International.

The fonds reflects this in the following three series: Administrative and membership records; Newsletters and bulletins, and Events and programs.

The Administration and membership records series consists of records pertaining to the Burquitlam Lions Club's administrative and membership activities. It is divided into four subseries: Membership records, Constitution, policy and procedures; Agendas and minutes; and Correspondence.

The Newsletters and bulletins series consists of newsletters and bulletins created by the Burquitlam Lions Club, and ones received by Lions Club International and District 19 Governors.

The Events and programs series contains records related to specific programs supported by the Burquitlam Lions Club as well as events held in their community.

Colony Farm Records

This series consists of records related to the construction and operations on Colony Farm at Riverview Hospital. The materials relate to the original construction planning and dyking done to create Colony Farm, as well as some of the early auction and sale records of cattle and horses.

Record types include correspondence, financial records, agreements, receipts, a certificate, and policy material.

Events and programs

The series contains records related to events held and specific programs supported by the Burquitlam Lions Club from 1969 to 2018. The Burquitlam Lions Club organized annual Christmas hampers, Easter Egg hunts, and meat draws. They also supported hearing aid and eyeglass initiatives, Easter Seals camps, and notably funded two care centres: the Burquitlam Lions Intermediate Care Centre (1981-2016) and L.J. Christmas Manor Seniors Home.

Record types include event planning materials and timelines, correspondence, guestbooks, newspaper clippings, as well as activity reports, photographs, and scrapbooks.

Exhibitions, events, and media coverage

The series consists of records produced and accumulated by ArtsConnect in the course of planning, organizing, and mounting arts and culture exhibitions and events. ArtsConnect organized many exhibitions covering a wide range of media: painting, sculpture, photography, performing arts, decorative arts, and video art. Annual exhibitions featured in the series include Works in 3D, Faces of the World Arts and Culture Festival, Vernissage, and Innovations. The series also includes the media coverage of events and exhibitions.

The resulting records are largely textual in form and include correspondence with artists and exhibitors, press releases, art and artist lists, exhibition proposals, application forms, internal memos and scheduling documents, installation records, artist CVs, contracts, didactics, artists' statements, promotional materials, invitations, condition reports, loan agreement forms, and newspaper clippings. Some audio and visual material, including photographs, installation plans, cassette tapes, and magnetic tapes, are also present.

Hoy-Scott Watershed Society fonds

The Hoy-Scott Watershed Society fonds consists of the records created and received by the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society and reflects its hatchery operations, salmonid enhancement and environmental stewardship programs, events, and environmental advocacy initiatives in the larger Coquitlam Watershed.

The fonds consists of administrative records, reports, correspondence, event planning files, newspaper clippings, newsletters, publications, plans, a scrapbook, promotional materials, and photographs documenting the activities of the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society and the operations of the Hoy Creek Hatchery in Coquitlam.

Internal and external committees

The series consists of records produced and accumulated by ArtsConnect while participating in various internal and external committees and task forces. Records include minutes, agendas, reports, correspondence and supplementary documentation related to arts initiatives, tourism programs, and notably the establishment of a performing arts centre in the Tri-Cities and a "cultural tourism" program.

Maillardville research materials and manuscripts

The series consists primarily of photocopied materials accumulated by Boire relating to the history of Maillardville as well as the research notes he created during the process of writing and publishing his book, "With Hearts and Minds."

Record types include newspaper articles and clippings, newsletters, printed materials, correspondence, recorded interviews, reports, biographies, inventories, handwritten notes, photographs, a map, a thesis, and digital records. The series also includes manuscript copies of "With Hearts and Minds."

Minutes, correspondence, and reports

The series consists of minutes from General and Executive meetings of the organization held between 1988 and 2018. The series also contains Annual reports of the organization between 1989 and 2010 and yearly financial statements from 1985–2010. ArtsConnect received provincial and municipal grant money for many years, including the Place des Arts grant and BC Basic Assistance for Community Arts Councils in addition to their fundraising and gaming revenue.

News Clippings

This series is the clipping collection accrued and maintained by the Riverview Hospital Historical Society. It includes original and copied newspaper clippings related to Riverview Hospital. This series also includes correspondence from the office of the Executive Director of Riverview Hospital on the topic of specific news articles and events. Record types in this series include newspaper clippings, photocopies, printed website content, one scrapbook, and one poster.

Personal Collections

This series consists of records that were original personal fonds and collections acquired and preserved by the Riverview Hospital Historical Society's during its existence. It contains the personal collections of nurses, doctors, general staff, British Columbia's first Provincial Botanist, and a patient at Riverview Hospital. Each file includes records such as study notes, photographs, ephemera, correspondence, newspaper clippings and pamphlets.

The series consists of 15 files, each corresponding to its original creator or donor: Ken Baker, Loretta Barnet, Ultan Patrick Byrne, Jean Campbell, Edna Colvin, John Davidson, Sheila Dumore, William Headridge, Alyce Hockin, Lois Kaldestad, Catherine Murray, Judy Pendry, Dorothy Pocock, Hazel Shepard, and Georgina Bernice Petty.

Programs and events

The series documents the various salmonid enhancement and environmental stewardship programs and events the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society (HSWS) organizes and maintains. A significant portion of the series consists of newspaper clippings HSWS maintained about their events and activities reported on in local newspapers. Additionally, it includes Creek and Trail Inspection Reports, feed records, accumulated thermal units, and trough data forms.

Programs and workshops

The series documents various educational art programs and workshops (art classes, Artflow, Art Spa, etc.) and advocacy initiatives ArtsConnect organized in the Tri-Cities. Additionally, it includes records of their scholarship and granting program and their awards program, supporting artists, businesses, and art workers in the area. The series also contains records related to ArtsConnect's youth-centred initiatives, promotions, and its 2010 Olympic Spirit Team Program. Records include program development documentation, teacher contracts, workshop evaluations, planning documents, promotional materials, correspondence, certificates, and other material.

Research and subject files

The series consists of correspondence, minutes, newspaper clippings, photographs, site plans, promotional fliers, and other assorted materials made by other organizations that the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society accumulated into subject files for reference purposes.

Riverview Hospital Administrative and Event Records

This series consists of records related to the administration and operation of Riverview Hospital as well as some of the official events and programs organized by the hospital. The series is arranged in two subseries:

The Riverview Hospital Historical Society collection consists of the records collected and maintained by the Riverview Hospital Historical Society (RHHS). Through their museum and library, the RHHS acquired and stewarded records documenting the history of Riverview Hospital, the British Columbia School of Psychiatric Nursing, and the history of psychiatric care in British Columbia.

The collection consists of a range of documentary forms, including: reports, theses, newspaper clippings, newsletters, publications, correspondence, manuals, plans and drawings, directories, inventories, procedures, programmes, annuals, invitations, motion pictures, personal narratives, staff lists, minutes, study notes, scrapbooks, ephemera, and photographs depicting aspects of social and administrative life at the hospital and school.

The collection is arranged into ten series that reflect original collections maintained by the RHHS, and are organized by media type or content. See the Arrangement note below for more information.

The series consists of records relating to schools in School District No. 43. The series includes class photographs, correspondence, scrapbooks, school annuals, and various crests.

Subject files

The series consists of promotional fliers, correspondence, newspaper clippings, and other assorted materials made by other organizations that ArtsConnect promoted or interacted with regularly. The files were created by ArtsConnect board members for reference purposes.
