Biographical history

Tim Kernighan grew up, lived, and worked in Coquitlam, BC. He attended Lord Baden-Powell Elementary School, Como Lake Middle School, and Centennial High School. He graduated from Centennial High School in 1973 and attended Douglas College. In 1980, he joined the Coquitlam Fire Department, where he worked for 25 years. He held the roles of both Fire Fighter and Fire Prevention Inspector.

Custodial history

The records were in the possession of Edith Kernighan, Tim’s wife, until the time of donation.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of the personal and professional records of Tim Kernighan. The fonds includes photographs, certificates, job postings and job applications, invitations, maps, and other ephemera related to Coquitlam, BC.

Upon arrival at the archives, the records were contained in folders that indicated a subject-based arrangement. The Archivist followed this arrangement when creating the arrangement for the fonds.
