Administrative and operational records

The series consists of records pertaining to Hoy-Scott Watershed Society's (HSWS) incorporation, administration, and operation. It includes HSWS's certificate of incorporation, constitution and bylaws, as well as records documenting the organizational structure, procedures, and history of HSWS.

A large portion of the series consists of meeting agendas, minutes, and correspondence accumulated between 1995 and 2020. The series also contains yearly financial statements, funding applications, certificates, licenses, and correspondence relating to water rights and construction of the hatchery buildings.

The collection consists largely of research materials and notes created in the preparation of Boire's book "With Hearts and Minds" published in 2016. The remainder of the collection consists of materials collected by Boire from Caisse Populaire Maillardville Credit Union, as well as accumulated material pertaining to Boire’s involvement in several community initiatives, such as the Maillardville Residents' Association, Maillardville revitalization and planning, and Place Maillardville.

Materials include correspondence, photographs, administrative records, interviews, reports, handwritten notes, clippings, advertising and professional materials, newsletters, research materials, prints, postcards, ephemera, a map, embossing seals, a lid from a glass milk bottle, and other documents. The collection also includes a manuscript copy of “With Hearts and Minds”.

Boire, Alain Joseph

Caisse Populaire Maillardville Credit Union research materials

The series consists of material given to Boire by Caisse Populaire Maillardville Credit Union, when its assets were sold to VanCity Credit Union.

Record types include photographs and contact sheets, brochures, bulletins, fliers, ephemera, financial statements, minutes and agendas. The series also includes seals used by Caisse Populaire Maillardville Credit Union.

Community initiatives and organizational materials

The series relates to Boire's involvement with several community organizations and initiatives in Maillardville. Firstly, it encompasses the records of Boire's time with the Maillardville Residents' Association (MRA), on its Maillardville revitalization and planning Task Force, which was instrumental for advocating for development activities. The series also contains records about the development of Place Maillardville, the Coquitlam Heritage Society, as well as the Vancity Maillardville Advisory Committee. Lastly, the series contains fliers, ephemera, and articles about events in Maillardville, including the Festival du Bois, and the 2009 Maillardville centenary.

Record types include agendas and minutes, correspondence, ephemera, brochures, newspaper articles, bulletins, and revitalization and development reports.

District of Coquitlam Parks and Recreation Department records

The series documents the activities that Cunnings was involved with and led during his tenure at the District of Coquitlam Parks and Recreation Department and the development of the Department over time.

The series is arranged into files according to subject, and consists of textual records, photographs, ephemera, and newspaper clippings detailing sports, recreational programs and classes, parks and facility development, and events and initiatives undertaken by the Department, such as BC Summer Games, and Coquitlam Centennial celebrations.

The fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Don Cunnings, documenting his involvement in sport and recreation in Coquitlam. The archivist arranged the fonds into three series. One series documents the activities of Cunnings during his tenure at the District of Coquitlam Parks and Recreation Department. The second series consists of personal and professional records accumulated by Cunnings, documenting his various professional positions for reference and posterity. The third series consists of photographs and other media.

The records include photographs, newspaper clippings, newsletters, correspondence, recorded documentaries, three scrapbooks, and assorted textual records and ephemera.

Hoy-Scott Watershed Society fonds

The Hoy-Scott Watershed Society fonds consists of the records created and received by the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society and reflects its hatchery operations, salmonid enhancement and environmental stewardship programs, events, and environmental advocacy initiatives in the larger Coquitlam Watershed.

The fonds consists of administrative records, reports, correspondence, event planning files, newspaper clippings, newsletters, publications, plans, a scrapbook, promotional materials, and photographs documenting the activities of the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society and the operations of the Hoy Creek Hatchery in Coquitlam.

Maillardville research materials and manuscripts

The series consists primarily of photocopied materials accumulated by Boire relating to the history of Maillardville as well as the research notes he created during the process of writing and publishing his book, "With Hearts and Minds."

Record types include newspaper articles and clippings, newsletters, printed materials, correspondence, recorded interviews, reports, biographies, inventories, handwritten notes, photographs, a map, a thesis, and digital records. The series also includes manuscript copies of "With Hearts and Minds."

Miscellaneous publications

This subseries contains miscellaneous reference materials that were not related to scholarly communications or public relations materials. It was originally a division in the museum library collection. Record types include guides, assorted journal articles and reports, newspaper articles, and best practices.

Reference Materials

This series consists of assorted materials collected for reference purposes by the Riverview Hospital Historical Society and originally acted as a reference library when the Society ran its museum. It contains publications, clipped articles, studies, DVDs, transcripts, and pamphlets. In addition to its reference collection, the series contains a subseries of the scholarly communications and theses arising from research undertaken at Riverview Hospital. Many publications are originals; however this series also consists of copies of articles.

Riverview Hospital Historical Society collection

The Riverview Hospital Historical Society collection consists of the records collected and maintained by the Riverview Hospital Historical Society (RHHS). Through their museum and library, the RHHS acquired and stewarded records documenting the history of Riverview Hospital, the British Columbia School of Psychiatric Nursing, and the history of psychiatric care in British Columbia.

The collection consists of a range of documentary forms, including: reports, theses, newspaper clippings, newsletters, publications, correspondence, manuals, plans and drawings, directories, inventories, procedures, programmes, annuals, invitations, motion pictures, personal narratives, staff lists, minutes, study notes, scrapbooks, ephemera, and photographs depicting aspects of social and administrative life at the hospital and school.
