• The Admission and Infirmary Building for the Aged, also known as Valleyview 300, opened in 1959. In 1989, the building was renamed the Valleyview Pavilion. It operated until 2012, when Riverview Hospital closed, and was demolished in 2016.

• There were two schools at Austin Avenue and Nelson Street: a small building that taught kindergarten to Grade 6 (Central School) and Grade 7 to 12 (Coquitlam High School).
