The Hoy-Scott Watershed Society fonds consists of the records created and received by the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society and reflects its hatchery operations, salmonid enhancement and environmental stewardship programs, events, and environmental advocacy initiatives in the larger Coquitlam Watershed.

The fonds consists of administrative records, reports, correspondence, event planning files, newspaper clippings, newsletters, publications, plans, a scrapbook, promotional materials, and photographs documenting the activities of the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society and the operations of the Hoy Creek Hatchery in Coquitlam.

The fonds was arranged into four series by the archivist. See the Physical condition and Arrangement note below for more information.

Don Cunnings fonds

The fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Don Cunnings, documenting his involvement in sport and recreation in Coquitlam. The archivist arranged the fonds into three series. One series documents the activities of Cunnings during his tenure at the District of Coquitlam Parks and Recreation Department. The second series consists of personal and professional records accumulated by Cunnings, documenting his various professional positions for reference and posterity. The third series consists of photographs and other media.

The records include photographs, newspaper clippings, newsletters, correspondence, recorded documentaries, three scrapbooks, and assorted textual records and ephemera.

Recreation and Cultural Centres

The file documents the various recreation and cultural centres in Coquitlam as well as their development through time. The records include information about Dogwood Pavilion, Chimo Pool, the Coquitlam Sports Centre, and the Social Recreation Centre. Records include programs and newspaper articles.

Essondale

The file consists of photocopies of images depicting the staff and grounds of Essondale's Crease Clinic at Riverview Hospital, including the Fire Hall.

Essondale (Riverview Hospital) photographs

The subseries consists of 13 b&w glass plate negatives depicting the West Lawn building, which opened in 1913, as well as interior shots of various labs and lounges, and the dormitory. There is also a photograph of an unidentified building, and an interior shot of the shoe workshop at the Provincial Hospital for the Insane in New Westminster, B.C.

Unidentified Farm photographs

The subseries consists of photographs assumed to have been taken by W.J.Moore because of the context in which they were found, although it has not been possible to confirm. It was suggested in documentation accompanying the transfer, that the photographs depict the buildings and livestock of the Dominion Experimental Farm in Agassiz, BC; however, the buildings do not match other available photographs of the farm in Agassiz and therefore, it has not been possible to confirm the location. The glass negatives were found in Summerland, BC. It is possible that the photographs depict the Experimental Farm in Summerland; however, the buildings also do not match existing photographs of the Summerland farm, so it has not been possible to confirm either potential location.
